LINE SKIS HOLIDAY & CAMP, APRIL 2006

I just have to say that only one word could sum up that trip and that would be amazing!!

I had such a great time that I didn’t want to come home and that was due to both the fantastic mountains and also everyone on the trip.

Being the only girl on the trip didn't put me off at all, I had a fantastic time and although I was nowhere near as good a skier as everyone else I still enjoyed myself and came home feeling much more confident about my skiing, even though I still have those moments back at Castleford where I wimp out of things I know I would have done 10 times over on the holiday!

I cannot pick one part of the trip that I did not enjoy, although sat on those chair lifts in the blizzard on the middle day was not my ultimate idea of fun! Bowling was great fun even if I couldn't have the barriers up! Hehehe!!

The Coaches on the trip were fantastic and I just wish we could have had more time out there so I could have learnt more from them. But it was great to see that even they are human and fall sometimes! It was awesome to see skiers such as Norwegian Steven (Gaute), Noddy, Murray, Paddy and Slave Monkey out there and aside from learning from them it was great to watch some of the fantastic tricks that they could do, it left me wishing one day I could be that good, well at least be able to attempt half of what they can do!!

The location of the hotel was fab and we could not have had better facilities and such a great host! Timing for the trip could not have been better either with BUSC on, the opening and other comps that were on during the week were great to watch, however, the sight of the air ambulance several times a day was a bit worrying! But I think the fact that no one broke anything on the Camp and the only injures we had were minor shows how good the Coaches and team were.

I think massive thanks are needed for everyone who organized the trip, Coaches etc but also for Rick as it was great to have someone out there who could help with skis but mainly for all the awesome pics that I am sure he has taken! Can’t wait to see them! And the video that Chris is making for that matter!

The fact that we could demo next year’s skis was also a great bonus and having the women's ones nearly all to myself was great!

Well I think that that covers the amazing week we had, apart from saying how badly we all got burnt even with sun cream, but again that just proves how fab it was out there!

Anyway all I can hope now is that I will be allowed back again next year, hopefully having improved more by then!
