TOURPARTY HOLIDAY & TOURPARTY CAMP, APRIL 2006WAS IT THE “ULTMATE SKI HOLIDAY”?!
I’m supposed to write a report of the LINE Skis Tourparty Freestyle & Freeride Camp that took place in April 2006. We had promoted it beforehand as the “Ultimate Ski Holiday” ...which was either incredibly brave or incredibly foolish… did we deliver? Did it measure up? Fortunately the answer is “Yes” and it’s not just us saying it! But trying to put into words why this holiday was so outstanding is a challenge, as Chris (one of the guys on the Camp) put it well when he wrote the following to us afterwards: ”There are so many good memories from this trip that I really do not have a clue where to start, apart from maybe saying that it was by far the best ski trip I have ever been on and I am proud I was a part of it! Going on holiday is always a mixture of hope, expectation and anxiety too. (Even more so when you are the ones organising the whole thing and badly want everyone to have the best possible time!) When you go on holiday you spend a lot of money to go somewhere, to experience something, but there are no guarantees… no certainty about the place, the weather, the people.
Fortunately all anxieties were soon laid to rest when the amazing mix of people on the holiday, of all ages (from 11 to 50 years) and abilities, finally met. Everyone got on brilliantly and judging by the overwhelmingly positive feedback afterwards, this proved to be one of their best holidays ever!

Introduction
It’s no surprise that those who decided to come on our first Tourparty Freestyle & Freeride Camp (organised by Tourparty and sponsored by LINE Skis) were beginning to question their decision as they hung around Service Stations along the M1 and even at a branch of Asda off the M25, clutching skis and bags and trying to ignore the confused stares of passers by!
What a week it was! As James, one of the best Freestyle skiers on the Camp said afterwards: “it was the best Ski trip or Camp I’ve ever been on, I would do it again for sure; never learnt so much in that short space of time!”
