LINE PRO RIDER ANDY BENNETT HAS BEEN KEEPING BUSY IN VERBIER

LINE Ski UK Pro rider Andy Bennett is an old head on young shoulders, with fingers in many pies! Not only a hugely talented freestyle and freeride skier, Andy is also a qualified coach and is one of the team responsible for the annual Ellis Brigham DVD. Currently out in Verbier, Andy has been keeping very busy and sent us this report updating us on his time in the mountains and plans for the rest of the season. "Verbier is going well despite the lack of snow! It's quite funny really because it's been one of the worst seasons ever with regards to snow fall but I have had some of the best powder days of my life and hit the best kicker ever made in Verbier!

The 07-08 Ellis Brigham movie is already looking amazing! Much better than this season's movie already in terms of film quality and riding quality.

I have learnt several new tricks and my freeriding has gone up to a whole new level. I have been pushing myself much harder this year and this is why I think I have been stacking more! I have had a fair few crashes and two of them set me back a little bit. One was a crash off a pillow line and I fell off it and landed on a cat track after getting caught on a piece of tree. Not sure if it was the root of it or a branch but it bloody hurt!

The other was an attempt at a 180 off a cornice, which at first I thought I had landed but then I ate it big time! It doesn't look that bd on video but this one put my back out for over a week and I had to compete in the Verbier Ride with a busted back!

Future plans are to go to the UK Snowsports Industry ski test in Austria for some photos and possibly test some new skis and then go straight over to the Brits in Laax and then hang out over that way for a few days until the Davos/Klosters Ride. Then I will come back to Verbier and hopefully ski and film some powder!"
