TOURPARTY SNOWSPORTS CAMPS - THE REPORTS ARE IN!
We now have report and photos online from all the recent Tourparty SnoTribe Camps held in Laax, Switzerland and Les Deux Alpes, France.
Our thanks to all the coaching staff who worked so hard to make the weeks such a great success, to the hotel staff and others who made our stays so enjoyable, to all the crew at Soul Sports for putting on a great BRITS Championships this year... and to Chris and Humo for writing the reports for us and to Rick and Craig for the photos.

TOURPARTY BACK IN LES DEUX ALPES, FRANCE - SPRING SKIING GALLERY NOW ONLINE
We love Les Deux Alpes and are happy to return each year for some excellent bluebird skiing every Spring... although this year there was more snow than sun... but still everyone had a great time... there were two Tourparty Skiing and Snowboarding Camps: the first, from 29 March to 5 April 2008, comprised a small group of Irish skiers who sure knew how to party and didn't mind wearing some crazy "old school" fashion on-piste to put a smile on the face of the fellow riders; the second Camp, from 5 April to 12 April, comprised a larger group of all ages who made huge progress under the guidance of the coaches and had a fantastic week despite the difficult snow conditions - yes, it snowed heavily though the week... in April... how about that!

TOURPARTY AT THE BRITS 08 - LAAX GALLERY NOW ONLINE

The first ever ski and snowboard Camps held in Laax, Switzerland were fantastic, with excellent conditions, an awesome mountain, fantastic Coaches and a great group of people of all ages participating over the two Camps held in February 2008.

TOURPARTY SKIING & SNOWBOARDING CAMP @ THE BRITS 08
We're really pleased to announce that Tourparty and the organisers of the BRITS Ski & Snowboard Championships 2008 are joining forces to offer a Tourparty Youth & Adult Camp for Skiers & Snowboarders at the BRITS 08 from Saturday 29 March to Saturday 5 April 2008 in Laax, Switzerland.
Now anyone under 18 years wanting to compete in the BRITS 08 can attend even if their parents/guardians can’t - thanks to the residential supervision/care provided by the Tourparty staff throughout the fully-inclusive Youth Camp.
It means everyone attending the Tourparty Camp over the BRITS 08 week will benefit from the usual excellent Tourparty Ski & Snowboard Coaching, the chance to make lots of new friends, the video review and photography, the demo testing, the après-ski activities etc etc PLUS get to compete in the BRITS 08 if they want to (and meet the entry criteria) with the full support and guidance of the Tourparty Coaches.
Entry in the Brits 08 is included in the package price - but competing is optional - you don’t have to compete in the BRITS - you can always watch the competitions when you want a break from cruising the fantastic mountains, freestyle features etc in Laax!
Also included in the package price is the Festival wristband... so whether you compete or not you can take part in as many of the events and parties etc as you want - a great chance to follow the action and soak up the atmosphere.
As with all Tourparty Camps the price is fully inclusive of everything except getting to and from the resort - and Tourparty can offer transfers for that too if you are arriving by air (but you’ll have to book your own flights!).

NEWS - AUGUST 2007
TOURPARTY AND 'FEAR OF THE PARK' TO WORK TOGETHER
We are delighted to announce that Fear of the Park (FOTP) webmaster and Snowboarding Coach Rich Webb is joining the Tourparty team and that Tourparty and FOTP will be working together to on snowsports news, events and competitions.
NZ qualified Rich has been riding for just over 7 years and still has the same enthusiasm for his snowboarding as when he took those first lessons. Since then he has gained experience coaching all around the globe, particularly New Zealand.
We are just back from an amazing week in Les Deux Alpes for our first Tourparty Snowsports Summer Camp, run in conjunction with the DirtTribe Mountain Biking Summer Camp.
The Summer Camp was brilliant. We had participants from all over Europe (France, Ireland, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, UK etc) of all ages sharing their love of the mountains.
The weather was fantastic, the snow was great, the Coaches did a brilliant job keeping everyone entertained and helping all participants to progress their skiing and snowboarding to the next level, the range of activities from "beach volleyball", swimming, tennis, trampolining, golf, crepe eating etc to mountain biking proved a huge hit and in no time everyone had made friends and were already talking about booking for next year!

NEWS - JUNE 2007
ALEXA HOHENBERG TO COACH AT SUMMER CAMP
Alexa Hohenberg is joining the Tourparty team as a Snowboard Coach and also an expert on a number of resorts, particularly Les Deux Alpes where she lives "in-season".
We are very pleased to have Alexa on our staff, she loves snowboarding with a passion having become hooked aged 11 and spending every penny since she was 16 years old on flights to Europe and lift passes! She has spent seasons in Whistler, riding for fun, coaching and gaining her Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructor (CASI) qualifications as well as working for the Whistler Blackcomb Snowboard School and Spanish SMK Snowboard Camps.
As a competitor Alexa has competed on the UK and Euro scene,
getting podium spots in comps like the Burton Black Metal, Let’s Get
Ready to Stumble and some UK Aim Series events. She was also responsible for 'SnowBalls', a snowboarding film she made in an attempt to get more girls into snowboarding. (If you haven’t seen it check it out at www.gnarchickenandtea.co.uk).
Alexa is a bubbly, enthusiastic person always up for fun and keen to share her love of the mountains. After running the shop at Wimbledon this year she will be hot footing it to Les Deux Alpes to join us for the Tourparty Skiing and Snowboarding Summer Camp 2007, we look forward to seeing her and you there!

Having come on our Tourparty Easter Camp in 2006 as a participant, we're pleased to announce that Chris McGuire is joining the Tourparty team. Chris will be helping with planning the Tourparty programme of ski and snowboarding camps and holidays throughout the year in resorts like Laax and Les Deux Alpes, and special competitions and events. Chris will also be on the road for us to help spread the word about Tourparty, as well as helping to deal with enquiries and bookings.
Chris has been skiing all his life and loves skateboarding, trampolining, basketball and music too. He is a former World Champion in Archery (I kid you not!) and is now a qualified Ski Instructor having spent a season instructing in Austria after finishing his A Levels. He can also balance spoons on his nose!
Over the next few months Chris will be focusing on planning for our first Tourparty Ski & Snowboard Summer Camp this July 2007 in Les Deux Alpes, it should be a great week and will be run in conjunction with THE DirtTribe Mountain Biking Summer Camp. He will also be working on our Faceparty and MySpace profiles and planning for future trips, such as a heli trip in Russia planned for 2008/2009.

"IT WAS BRILLIANT" - TOURPARTY EASTER SKI & SNOWBOARD CAMPS A HUGE SUCCESS!
We're back! We've just returned (in one piece!) from two amazing weeks in the French Alps with the Tourparty Ski and Snowboard Freestyle and Freeride Camps and it was brilliant! The snow was perfect, the coaching was excellent, the resort was great... and the atmosphere was fantastic!
Last year's first ever Tourparty Camp, organised by Tourparty and sponsored by LINE Skis, was a huge success so this year Tourparty decided to run two weeks of Camp over Easter in Les Deux Alpes, France.
Burton, Red and Anon came on-board this year as sponsors and the Tourparty team expanded with Burton Pro and Snowboard Coach Posy Dixon, Ski Coach Andy Evans and Tourparty staffer Craig Hume joining Ski Coaches Pat "Sharpie" Sharples, Gavin Carruthers and Rick Hutchings who returned from 2006.
Skiers and snowboarders on Tourparty Easter 2007 came from all over the UK and beyond, with one rider coming from as far as the Lebanon!
TOURPARTY LAUNCHES "TOURPARTY 20 / 40 SNOWBOARD" NEW YEAR CAMP FOR ADULTS AGED 20 TO 40 (ish) WANTING TO FREESTYLE AND FREERIDE (LES DEUX ALPES - 30 December 2007 to 4 January 2008)
Not all of us are little rubber people who can throw ourselves through a halfpipe, hit numerous rails and launch ourselves off kickers without worrying about the landing! And not all of us are experienced big mountain riders, 100% happy with heading into the back country, freeriding, ploughing through powder etc!
Us older snowboarders may not want to admit to being "fully grown adults" but the fact is we don't bounce so easily! We still love to ride and we want to learn new tricks and techniques... especially as the whole freestyle movement (as we know it now) came along a bit after we first stepped on to a board... but it's not so easy with jib monkeys chasing us around the park hitting everything without a second thought... and challenging back country terrain to take on... plus when it comes to Snowboard "Camps"... our kind of preferred evening activity is more "des grande bière", big meal and night cap at the Rummerie or Smithys or clubbing at the Avalanche (for those feeling brave enough!) than bangers, arcades and crepes at Charley Burger.
Okay, so we can't all be Shaun White but we can learn how to get some air off a kicker or ride a rail or get through the halfpipe in one piece... and if we already know how to do a grab or pull a 360 there is plenty more we can learn given time and expert coaching.
That's the thinking behind "Tourparty 20 / 40 Snowboard"... If you're an older snowboarder hungry to perfect some freeride and freestyle moves while meeting and riding with Coaches, Pro riders and other snowboarders of a similar age who share your passion... look no further... you just found the perfect holiday and camp!

TOURPARTY OFFERING FREESTYLE SNOWBOARDING AND FREERIDE SNOWBOARDING GIRLS ONLY COACHING
On every Tourparty Camp from Summer 2007 girls will have the option of learning from one of our expert female coaches who will run girls-only coaching sessions throughout the Camp (a Women only "Camp within a Camp").
It's optional, no need to make any special booking arrangements... but now girls can learn together and give mutual respect and support. Outside of the coaching there will be plenty of opportunities for girls and guys to snowboard together, and to hang out together off the snow too.
NEWS FROM THE EASTER TOURPARTY CAMP
(LES DEUX ALPES - 31 March - 7 April 2007)
The Easter Tourparty Camp in Les Deux Alpes, France has got off to a brilliant start with snow on the first day followed by bluebird skies and excellent snow conditions for Days 2 and 3.
Last year we also had fresh snow and bluebird days… all part of the Tourparty service!
This year we have a great group of skiers and snowboarders of all ages, from 8 years to 50 years. The attitude and atmosphere couldn’t be better and there is lots of mutual support as everyone works on their freestyle and freeride skiing techniques in the park, half-pipe, slopestyle and boarder cross courses and on the natural features around the mountain.
The coaching team (Pat Sharples, Posy Dixon, Rick Hutchings, Gavin Carruthers and Andy Evans) are working hard to help everyone improve and achieve their objectives for the week, while also ensuring they have a great time together.
Tonight we’ve got a barbecue and ice skating… and then another 4 days of skiing and snowboarding still to go! Weeehooo!

GARY GREENSHIELDS JOINS TOURPARTY STAFF
Gary has done 8 seasons and traveled the world in pursuit of his first love - snowboarding. He is totally hooked, he loves being on his board and is always impatient to get back on it to ride with old friends and new, as he says himself: “jumping spinning sliding slamming shouting screaming rolling around in the powder… driving to find new snow fresh shaped pipes groomed runs… big jumps… I love it all!”.

NEWS - OCTOBER 2006
HAMISH MCKNIGHT ON-BOARD WITH TOURPARTY
We are very pleased to welcome Hamish McKnight to the Tourparty Coaching team rosta. Hamish has been at the forefront of the British snowboarding scene for almost as long as he’s been riding. He is now the Team GB Slopestyle Coach and will be travelling extensively with the GB team over the season working with the GB athletes at all the key international comps.
Having cut his teeth on the Hillend dryslope in his hometown of Edinburgh, Hamish spent his teens competing - and in many cases, winning - numerous events at home and abroad. Over the years he has continued to compete and do photo shoots etc while also developing coaching experience, working with the kommunity camps run by Neil McNab for the last 7 years.
He now divides his time between working as a snowboard expert in the Snowboard Asylum in Milton Keynes, and travelling abroad - to Europe, the US, the Far East, and even Iran. He is featured regularly in UK snowboard publications (White Lines, Snowboard UK, and Document Magazine) and his trips are frequently covered by travel and snowsports media from around the globe as well as being documented on film for channels such a Extreme and Channel 4. He is currently sponsored by Burton Snowboards, Anon goggles, Gravis footwear, Hurley clothing and The Snowboard Asylum (TSA).

POSY DIXON JOINS THE TOURPARTY COACHING TEAM ROSTA
Posy has a cool job as a Snowboard Pro for Burton... fortunately she's also found time in her hectic schedule to participate in one or more Tourparty Camps and we're very pleased to have her on the team.
Posy has been riding for six years having started in Scotland at Hillend (Midlothian Ski Centre). Having proven herself in AIM Series and University competitions around the UK she was hooked up by Burton, Anon, Red, Coal, TSA and Gravis. She now spends her time between London and Myrhofen but has travelled everywhere, chasing snow from Canada to Austria, Iceland to New Zealand, competing in international freestyle events and filming for ‘The Playground’ (Hungerpain).
When coaching Posy likes to teach good style, confidence, how to really enjoy riding and get the best out of your days on the snow. She has coached on numerous snowboard camps in France and Norway, getting great satisfaction from introducing riders to the wonderful world of freestyle riding.

MOL & TOM PERCIVAL TEAM UP WITH TOURPARTY
Mollie and Tom are both pro snowboarders and coaches in their own right, but having got married they come as a bit of a double act which is fine by us, it's awesome to have both of them on the Tourparty rosta!
Mollie discovered snowboarding about 7 years ago and life has not be the same since. Her honeymoon was her first season in Tignes and since then she has headed out to the snow whenever she can, spending the rest of her time riding the dryslopes around North-West England and working at the University Of Bolton as a Sport, Health and Physical Activity Officer. As well as coaching Snowboarding she also coaches Trampolining, Boxercise and Fitness. Now sponsored by Sapient Snowboards, Mission Six Clothing, 32s Snowboard Boots, Etnies Trainers and Subvert Board Store, Mollie has a long record of competition success.
Tom didn’t start snowboarding until his 23rd birthday when he was bought a snowboard taster lesson at Ski Rossendale and loved it! Having caught the bug he went religiously every week to improve, trying to get better than his girlfriend, now wife, and claims he still hasn't managed it! But however humble he is about his own riding, the rest of us know him as an experienced coach and rider, sponsored by Rome Snowboards and Westbeach Clothing.

We love Les Deux Alpes and are happy to return each year for some excellent bluebird skiing every Spring... although this year there was more snow than sun... but still everyone had a great time... there were two Tourparty Skiing and Snowboarding Camps: the first, from 29 March to 5 April 2008, comprised a small group of Irish skiers who sure knew how to party and didn't mind wearing some crazy "old school" fashion on-piste to put a smile on the face of the fellow riders; the second Camp, from 5 April to 12 April, comprised a larger group of all ages who made huge progress under the guidance of the coaches and had a fantastic week despite the difficult snow conditions - yes, it snowed heavily though the week... in April... how about that!_250_179.jpg){kind=logo}

The first Tourparty and DirtTribe Summer Camp for Skiers, Snowboarders and Mountain Bikers, sponsored by 
We are delighted to announce that 
The Summer Camp was brilliant. We had participants from all over Europe (France, Ireland, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, UK etc) of all ages sharing their love of the mountains.
Alexa Hohenberg is joining the Tourparty team as a Snowboard Coach and also an expert on a number of resorts, particularly Les Deux Alpes where she lives "in-season".
Chris has been skiing all his life and loves skateboarding, trampolining, basketball and music too. He is a former World Champion in Archery (I kid you not!) and is now a qualified Ski Instructor having spent a season instructing in Austria after finishing his A Levels. He can also balance spoons on his nose!
We're back! We've just returned (in one piece!) from two amazing weeks in the French Alps with the Tourparty Ski and Snowboard Freestyle and Freeride Camps and it was brilliant! The snow was perfect, the coaching was excellent, the resort was great... and the atmosphere was fantastic!
Burton, Red and Anon came on-board this year as sponsors and the Tourparty team expanded with Burton Pro and Snowboard Coach Posy Dixon, Ski Coach Andy Evans and Tourparty staffer Craig Hume joining Ski Coaches Pat "Sharpie" Sharples, Gavin Carruthers and Rick Hutchings who returned from 2006.
Not all of us are little rubber people who can throw ourselves through a halfpipe, hit numerous rails and launch ourselves off kickers without worrying about the landing! And not all of us are experienced big mountain riders, 100% happy with heading into the back country, freeriding, ploughing through powder etc!
On every Tourparty Camp from Summer 2007 girls will have the option of learning from one of our expert female coaches who will run girls-only coaching sessions throughout the Camp (a Women only "Camp within a Camp").
Gary has done 8 seasons and traveled the world in pursuit of his first love - snowboarding. He is totally hooked, he loves being on his board and is always impatient to get back on it to ride with old friends and new, as he says himself: “jumping spinning sliding slamming shouting screaming rolling around in the powder… driving to find new snow fresh shaped pipes groomed runs… big jumps… I love it all!”.
We are very pleased to welcome Hamish McKnight to the Tourparty Coaching team rosta. Hamish has been at the forefront of the British snowboarding scene for almost as long as he’s been riding. He is now the Team GB Slopestyle Coach and will be travelling extensively with the GB team over the season working with the GB athletes at all the key international comps.
