LES DEUX ALPES - FRANCE - TOURPARTY 20 / 40 SNOWBOARD - FREESTYLE SNOWBOARD AND FREERIDE SNOWBOARD NEW YEAR CAMP 2008 FOR ADULTS AGED 20 TO 40 (ish) YEARS - RESIDENTIAL AND NON-RESIDENTIAL PLACES AVAILABLE
BOOK NOW FOR THE ULTIMATE SNOWSPORTS NEW YEAR HOLIDAY!

Snowboarding Burton Tourparty Tourparty Freestyle FreerideThe Tourparty 20 / 40 Snowboard Freestyle & Freeride New Year Camp is open to men and women from anywhere in the world, aged 20 to 40 (ish) years, who want to have a brilliant week's holiday with like-minded snowboarders of a similar age, riding the whole mountain and spending plenty of time in the snow park with experienced Coaches and Pro riders, learning how to freestyle and freeride better.

Camp dates: Saturday 30 December 2007 to Saturday 4 January 2008.

Following the huge success of our Tourparty Holidays and Camps, we have decided to create "Tourparty 20 / 40 Snowboard" exclusively for adult snowboarders who love the idea of freestyle but either don't feel confident in the snow park and have never ridden the halfpipe or rails or kickers before, or who have some freestyle experience but want to learn more challenging tricks and new freestyle techniques... and/or adult snowboarders who want to learn how to cruise the back country, to freeride the whole mountain and to float through powder with the help of knowledgeable Coaches... culminating in a guided descent of La Grave, conditions permitting. (Click on the link for more information on the background and philosophy of Tourparty 20 / 40 Snowboard.)

No question this will be a fantastic week of 6 days of snowboarding in Les Deux Alpes, France - an excellent start to the season with snow guaranteed, a world renowned snow park, comfortable accommodation, plenty of new friends, expert coaches, a big choice of bars, restaurants and clubs, and unforgettable New Year celebrations... adding up to one great value holiday and snowboarding camp in the mountains - don't miss out - places are limited!

(We will be running Tourparty 20 / 40 Ski at the same time so if you have friends who ski and want to invite them along no problem, just point them at the Tourparty 20 / 40 Ski Camp information pages.)

Tourparty Camps are sponsored by Burton, LINE Skis, Anon and Red:

“It was awesome, really high standard of skiing and coaching and a good laugh too. Right result!” (Tourparty Freestyle Camp, 23 years old)

Tourparty Laax Spring February Half-term Ski Camp 21 Two Girls 200WHO COMES ON A TOURPARTY CAMP?

We run camps and holidays throughout the year open to people of all ages, sizes and abilities. We have had people aged 10 to 50+ years old, guys and girls. We have had snowboarders who have never hit a kicker or rail or ridden in the halfpipe or in powder or in the back country before ...and we have had sponsored Pro Freestyle & Freeride riders fresh from winning medals at the BRITS and other comps!

You do not have to be a Pro snowboarder to attend a Tourparty Camp! However good or inexperienced you are when you arrive our Coaching team will take you to the next level!

Tourparty Camps, especially Tourparty 20 / 40 Snowboard, are for everyone who can snowboard but want to progress their snowboarding. As long as you are a confident snowboarder able to cope with red runs easily, have a positive friendly attitude and want to learn and help others learn, you will be at home at Tourparty 20 / 40 Snowboard, learn loads and have a great time!

LINE Camp 2006-2007ABOUT LES DEUX ALPES

Click on the link to read all about why we have chosen to base this year's Tourparty 20 / 40 Snowboard holiday in Les Deux Alpes (with its fantastic SLIDER snow park, all mountain powder and freeride snowboarding, and snow guarantee), plus the option of a special day in Alpe d'Huez and a guided run down to La Grave at the end of the week for those wanting to concentrate on their Freeride snowboarding during the Tourparty 20 / 40 Camp (please see: Les Deux Alpes resort information).

When it comes to "apres ski" Les Deux Alpes has plenty to offer. There are numerous restaurants and bars. For example you can enjoy a quiet drink at Slide Cafe or the Windsor Bar, or start the night as you mean to go on at the popular Tex Mex Smokey Joes bar or the Pirate themed "Rummerie" (beware the Rum!) or the Board Room, and then wind your way back towards the hotel and late night bar Smithy's. If you really want to make a night of it then there is always the Avalanche nightclub hosted by Boris!

Don't worry about getting in anywhere... the manageress of our hotel, Enrica, knows everyone worth knowing in Les Deux Alpes and will ensure you can party on all night if you want to (and she will probably join you before getting the breakfast service underway the next day!)

ACCOMMODATION & FOOD FOR THOSE TAKING FULLY INCLUSIVE (RESIDENTIAL) PLACES ON TOURPARTY 20 / 40 SNOWBOARD

Good accommodation and food is important when you are training every day to improve your snowboarding. We negotiate hard to get good quality accommodation for the best possible price. On this Camp we will be staying in La Belle Étoile Hotel, enjoying comfortable, clean, friendly full-board accommodation (recently refurbished).

Burton Q Easter Camp Deux Alpes 250 230The hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from Le Diable gondola and the slopes, with en-suite rooms (TV etc), restaurant, bar, pool table, terrace, sauna, jacuzzi and ski lockers.

We stayed at La Belle Etoile Hotel for the first time in April 2006 and we liked it so much we've decided to make it one of our preferred hotels. Run by Enrica and her Italian team, the hotel is great and well located close to shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. (The bowling alley is also nearby and the main swimming pool and ice rink are only 10 minutes walk away.)

If you wish to share a room with friends who are also coming on the Camp please write their names on your booking form and we will put you together. If you are coming on your own don't worry the Camps are always very friendly and the people on them are very sociable, not least the coaches. (We take care to try to ensure people with similar interests, backgrounds and ages are allocated accommodation together, on a same-sex basis.)

LINE Camp06 RH 8800 200Having worked up a big appetite on the mountain there will be a great dinner awaiting you down below, and a buffet breakfast next day to get you ready for the slopes. A good packed lunch will be provided every day for refueling on the mountain. All included in the Camp price!

There will also be a very special New Year dinner and celebration provided by La Belle Etoile Hotel, also included in the price! (We spoiling you or what?!) See below for more information on New Year in Les Deux Alpes.

“(I went because it...) ...sounded like a good trip and I liked the idea of getting some quality coaching.” (Tourparty Freestyle Camp, 23 years old)

LINE Camp 2006-2007CELEBRATE THE NEW YEAR SNOWBOARDING IN THE MOUNTAINS!

Tired of the same old New Year celebrations? Escape the norm!

Whether you want to celebrate with family or friends or come on your own and celebrate with lots of new friends, united by a love of snowboarding, this will be a great week! There is nothing better than spending New Year in the mountains... every time you step outside you see unforgettable views, feel refreshed by the cool air and enjoy the lively atmosphere in the town.

Les Deux Alpes is at its festive best over the Christmas and New Year period. The town really pushes the boat out for New Year, opening festivities at 6.30pm with a firework display. The evening continues under the theme of light, with an even more spectacular torch lit ski procession down the pistes nearest the village - every ski instructor at Les Deux Alpes wields a torch, and a laser light show descends the mountain after the procession. To keep you warm while watching the displays, a complimentary glass of mulled wine is served in the village.

New Year Laser Les Deux AlpesThen at the La Belle Etoile Hotel we will be special guests of manageress Enrica and her friendly Italian staff who will be holding their infamous New Year dinner and party. The dinner is amazing, by course 7 or 8 you may be struggling! Having enjoyed a fantastic dinner we will then welcome in the New Year with free Champagne and help kick off a party that normally goes on most of the night!

For those who don't want to sleep at all on New Year's Eve Enrica has all the right contacts in the pubs and clubs of Les Deux Alpes but we suggest you get some sleep if you can... there is no better experience than charging the mountains on New Year's Day... especially as most other people are normally back in resort in bed! If you want to feel like you own a glacier then New Year's morning is for you! Book now for a totally memorable New Year!

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE FULLY RESIDENTIAL TOURPARTY 20 / 40 SNOWBOARD ADULT CAMP?

Burton L Easter Camp Deux Alpes 200 250The Tourparty 20 / 40 Snowboard New Year Camp 2008 is great value for money, all of the following is included in the Camp residential price:

  • 7 days of accommodation and food:
We will be staying in the Hotel La Belle Etoile and its sister hotel. We know the La Belle Etoile well, it is an excellent base with friendly staff, good food, comfortable rooms (you will share with other participants your age on the Camp) and good facilities. The food is great and there is plenty of it.

  • 6 day lift pass:
It may be one of the most expensive lift passes in Europe but it is included in the price! This gives you full access to the whole Les Deux Alpes mountain area with over 220kms of snowboarding, lots of features and great challenges for snowboarders of all abilities (see above for more information).

  • LINE Camp 2006-20076 days of expert coaching by our Freestyle and Freeride team:
We have carefully selected our team of Coaches based on our personal knowledge of Pro riders and instructors in the UK and abroad developed over many years in the snowsports industry, and based on recommendations from people we respect. Our Coaching team are not only some of the best professional freestyle and freeride snowboarders around, they are also excellent teachers and very friendly! They share your passion for snowboarding and they love to help others learn. They also have loads of personal experience and stories from their time as Pro riders, instructors, guides, reps, competition organisers, judges, ski technicians etc etc. By the time you finish the Camp you will regard them as your friends and want to keep in touch with them after the week is over.

  • Freestyle and Freeride snowboarding all day, every day across the Les Deux Alpes ski area:
We all want as much time on snow as possible... this means an early start in the mornings to get the best of the snow conditions... we start by snowboarding together as a large group to warm up and enjoy each other's company... then we divide into smaller groups depending on what you want to do for the morning - whether freeride back country snowboarding, boardercross, half-pipe, slopestyle, rails and boxes etc. Each group has at least one Coach to give tips and share techniques, encourage and occasionally dig you out! We meet up at lunchtime and you are free to move to another group to do something different in the afternoon if you want, or to stay with your coach for the rest of the day. At the end of the day we meet up again to snowboard as a large group and share stories about the day before returning to the hotel to review the video tapes and have a relaxing evening.

  • Exclusive demo testing of the new BURTON 2007-09 snowboards, plus freebies!
During the Tourparty 20 / 40 Camp you will have the chance to test some of the latest snowboards and equipment from BURTON. You will also have the chance to get your hands on plenty of swag!

  • Video review:
    Our Coaches find video review very helpful in explaining how to perform a trick successfully. In 2007 - 2008 we will have more video cameras and video review sessions for each group to fully exploit the benefits of this learning method. (It's also great fun seeing yourself and other members of the group in action when you get back down the mountain!);

  • LINE Camp 2006-2007Souvenir Movie and Photographs:
    In the past we have been lucky to have professional filmmaker Chris Asquith (of Regime Change Productions who made "Try.Fail.Try" and "Monolog") with us to film everyone in action. At all Tourparty Camps next season we will have someone filming so that we can produce a mini-movie afterwards featuring everyone who has attended Tourparty - yes, you get to star (kinda) in a snowboard movie! We also have professional photographer Rick Hutchings along to take some shots of everyone;

  • New Year 2008 Dinner & Celebrations:
Following the early evening New Year celebrations in resort there will be a fantastic party kicking off in La Belle Etoile Hotel and you are invited... Manageress Enrica and her staff put on a great night with too much food, too much drink, too much dancing! And if you want to party on afterwards Enrica has all the local contacts to get you into the exclusive parties in nearby bars and clubs. It will be an unforgettable night... followed by an unforgettable day's snowboarding on New Year's day!

  • Prize giving:
At the end of the week we have a prize giving session to recognise the good, the bad and the downright ugly (snowboarding that is!) over the week of Tourparty 20 / 40! So whether you're the most improved snowboarder on this awesome New Year Freestyle & Freeride Snowboarding Camp, or the person who did the biggest slam, you stand a chance of going home with some swag in your bag!

  • Lots of extras with freebies and goodies!
    Trust us!!

The only things not included are your travel to and from the resort, your equipment and your insurance. (If you don't have your own you can rent a snowboard, boots and protective equipment in resort no problem.)

LINE Camp 2006-2007HOW DO YOU PLAN TO GET THERE?

Transportation to and from the UK is not included so you are free to make your own arrangements for traveling from wherever you live in the world to Les Deux Alpes in France, arriving on the Saturday and departing the following Saturday (ideally in the afternoon or evening).

The closest international airports are Grenoble and Lyons, (served by most major airlines and by budget airlines including Easyjet and Ryanair). Click on the link for more information on getting to Les Deux Alpes resort information.

If you are planning to arrive by plane into Grenoble or Lyon cities/airports we can arrange your transfers to and from resort for you. (Grenoble is the closest airport.) The cost is £55 return. This can be booked using the booking form or separately nearer the time of travel, depending on availability. Alternatively you can get local buses from the airport via Grenoble. Click on the link for information about transfers to Les Deux Alpes.

However you decide to travel to Les Deux Alpes for the Camp we would advise booking your place on the Camp first (now) and then looking into flight options. It may be that you have to wait anyway until airlines (especially budget airlines) publish their flight schedules and allow booking for December 2007 and January 2008. Obviously you should try to book as early as possible for the best prices because New Year is a very popular time. (When booking remember to ensure you have booked hold luggage and sports equipment luggage where necessary depending on the airline.)
