The Tourparty Youth Spring Snowboarding Holidays and Snowboard Camps are open to boys and girls from anywhere in the world, aged 10 to 17 years, who want to have a brilliant week's holiday with like-minded snowboarders of a similar age and take their snowboarding to the next level with the help of experienced coaches and Pro snowboarders.

No question this will be a fantastic week of 6 days of Spring snowboarding in Laax, Switzerland - an unforgettable holiday in the mountains - don't miss out!

WHAT MAKES A TOURPARTY SNOWBOARDING YOUTH CAMP SO DIFFERENT?

The Tourparty Snowboard Holiday and Camp concept has grown out of our own frustration as riders with the normal coaching, package holidays and school ski trips available to people wanting to progress their snowboarding and have a great holiday with like-minded snowboarders.

Now you can spend a week enjoying a unique holiday in one of Europe's best resorts with the best coaches... taking your snowboarding to the next level. The beauty of the Tourparty Camp concept is that we offer great value fully residential, supervised holidays for boys and girls aged 10 to 17 years... so you can come away on your own or with friends and have an unforgettable time... snowboarding all day every day with people who share your passion for boarding and your love of the mountains, and then relaxing in the evenings as you relive it all with new friends and look forward to the day ahead.

WHO COMES ON A TOURPARTY CAMP?

We run camps and holidays throughout the year open to people of all ages, sizes and abilities. We have people aged 10 to 50+ years old, guys and girls. We have snowboarders who have never snowboarded, snowboarders wanting to progress from blue runs to red runs, and from red runs to black runs. We have riders who want to learn how to cope with moguls or to hit a kicker or rail or ride through the halfpipe in one piece, or float through powder and ride the backcountry ...and we have sponsored Pro Freestyle & Freeride riders fresh from winning medals at the BRITS and other comps who want to be coached by the best and have a lot of fun too!

You do not have to be an advanced or Elite snowboarder to attend a Tourparty Camp! However good or inexperienced you are when you arrive our team of Coaches and Instructors will take you to the next level in a relaxed, fun way at your pace!

Tourparty Camps are for everyone. As long as you have a positive friendly attitude and want to learn and help others learn, you will be at home at Tourparty and have a great time!

Each Camp lasts a week - if you want to do two or more weeks on any particular Camp that's easy - just book the weeks you want and we will take care of the rest - the extra night between each week will be free, we'll take care of that and all food etc too while you relax over the weekend and prepare to start your next week on Camp!

(By the way, if you are planning to compete in the BRITS, Burton European Open or any other competitions in Europe in February/March 2009 there can't be any better preparation than spending a week with the Tourparty coaches in Laax! And if you attend a Camp over the particular week when an event is taking place in Laax you will have the chance to hang out with the top Pro riders, watch the competitions and even take part if you want, with your expert coaches there to give you plenty of advice and support!)

IF YOU ATTEND WITH FRIENDS CAN YOU SNOWBOARD WITH THEM, EVEN IF SOME ARE "ADULTS" AND SOME ARE "YOUTH"?

Friends or families of different ages wanting to ride together during the Camp are very welcome.

It does not matter if you are in different age categories (Adult and Youth), you can still ride each day together - assuming you are of similar ability and fitness. Just book the relevant Camp according to age and write on the booking form the names of the people you are booking with. (Family/friends on fully-residential places can share rooms too.)

We are very flexible. If you come on your own (as at least 50% of snowboarders do) we guarantee you will make loads of new friends in no time; if you come with people you know we will make sure you get to spend plenty of time together on and off the mountain. Either way we will do whatever it takes to help you have a great holiday, take your snowboarding to the next level and have lots of fun!

CAN FAMILY / FRIENDS WATCH?

Parents, family and friends are welcome to visit Laax at the same time as the Camp and to watch you during the day. You can stay with us and see them during the day, or you can attend as a non-resident, staying with them overnight, spending each day with us.

ABOUT THE LAAX RESORT (SWITZERLAND) AND ACCOMMODATION & FOOD INFORMATION FOR TOURPARTY IN LAAX

We are very excited about offering this special resort and we expect places will sell out quickly. The Flilms / Laax resorts and snowboard area may not be featured in many of the big travel company brochures but there is no question that it is a hidden gem with brilliant riding.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE FULLY RESIDENTIAL YOUTH CAMP?

The Tourparty Youth 2009 Winter Snowboard Holiday is great value for money, all of the following is included in the full-board Snowboard Camp residential price:

• 7 days of accommodation and food:
  We will be staying in the Hotel Casa Selva (Laax Murschetg), with en-suite rooms (you will share with other participants your age and sex if attending individually), full board with meals in the hotel restaurant. It is a fantastic place to stay. It is close to the lifts, comfortable, friendly and fun... with welcoming staff, a good atmosphere and plenty of facilities (see above for more information);


• 6 day lift pass:
  Your lift pass is included in the price! This gives you full access to the whole Films / Laax mountain area with over 220kms of snowboarding, lots of features and great challenges for snowboarders of all abilities (see above for more information).


• 7 days supervision and care:
  We have run residential sports camps for young people since 1999. From arrival to departure our experienced, professional team of Coaches and Counselors will help everyone on the Camp make new friends quickly, settle in fast, have a great holiday and progress their riding as quickly and safely as possible.


• 6 days of expert instruction by our Snowboard Instruction & Coaching Team:
  We have carefully selected our team of Coaches based on our personal knowledge of Pro riders and instructors in the UK and abroad developed over many years in the snowsports industry, and based on recommendations from people we respect. They share your passion for snowboarding and they love to help others learn. They also have loads of personal experience and stories from their time as Pro riders, instructors, guides, ski reps, competition organisers, judges, ski technicians etc etc. On our Camps we provide as much assistance and encouragement to everyone participating as possible, with friendly, patient instructors and staff keen to see you gain in confidence, technique and ability as quickly (and painlessly!) as possible while having lots of fun and enjoying your time in the mountains. By the end of the week you should be hugely satisfied at your progress and achievement, and we will be too!


• Snowboarding all day, every day across the Laax ski area:
  We all want as much time on snow as possible... this means an early start in the mornings to get the best of the snow conditions... we start by snowboarding together as a large group to warm up and enjoy each other's company... then we divide into smaller groups depending on what you want to do for the morning - whether learn to ride or ride progression, freeride back country boarding, half-pipe, slopestyle or rails and boxes etc. Each group has at least one Coach to give tips and share techniques, encourage and occasionally dig you out! We meet up at lunchtime and you are free to move to another group to do something different in the afternoon if you want, or to stay with your coach for the rest of the day. At the end of the day we meet up again to ride as a large group and share stories about the day before returning to the hotel to review the video tapes and have a relaxing evening.


• Video review:
  Our Coaches find video review very helpful when instructing. NEW for 2009 we will have more video cameras and video review sessions for each group to fully exploit the benefits of this learning method. (It's also great fun and very helpful seeing yourself and other members of the group in action when you get back down the mountain!);


• The chance to meet, ski with and get tips from Pro Snowboarders:
  We often have Pro Snowboarders with us for the Camps - they are amazing to watch and very focused on what they do but they are also approachable, friendly and enthusiastic about helping others to improve. They have had some pretty amazing experiences, from photo shoots to making TV programmes, from riding in international competitions and exhibitions to meeting and riding with the very best boarders in the world. Whenever they are around it's a great opportunity to meet and ride with them and hear their tips;


• Souvenir Movie and Photographs:
  In the past we have been lucky to have professional filmmaker Chris Asquith (of Regime Change Productions who made ski movies "Try.Fail.Try" and "Monolog") with us to film everyone in action. On all Tourparty Snowboard Holidays and Snowboarding Camps we have someone filming so that we can produce a mini-movie afterwards. We also have professional photographers like Rick Hutchings along to take some shots of everyone;


• Prize giving:
  At the end of the week we have a prize giving session to recognise the good, the bad and the downright ugly (snowboarding that is!) over the week of Tourparty! So whether you're the most improved snowboarder on this awesome Spring Holiday, or the person who did the biggest slam, you stand a chance of going home with some swag in your bag!

The only things not included are your travel to and from the resort, your insurance and your equipment.

Any standard Winter insurance policy that includes off-piste snowboarding (in patrolled areas), evacuation from the mountain (by helicopter), medical expenses, medical evacuation home, equipment loss or damage etc should provide sufficient cover for a Tourparty snowboard holiday and snowboarding camp but it is important to consider carefully what insurance you need and to ensure you are fully covered as snowsports are by their nature an inherently risky activity. You might try searching for a good package using a price comparison website like www.moneysupermarket.com or go direct to an insurance company like www.endsleigh.com or www.dogtag.co.uk.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE DAY NON-RESIDENTIAL YOUTH SNOWBOARD CAMP?

Everything detailed above except travel to and from the resort, accommodation, breakfast and dinner, 24 hour care, evening activities. You will need to arrive in the morning in time to leave with us and be collected by your parents/friends late afternoon.

HOW DO YOU PLAN TO GET THERE?

You are free to make your own arrangements for travelling from wherever you live in the world to Laax in Switzerland, ideally arriving in the afternoon on the Saturday and departing the following Saturday.

We offer a special "meet and greet" service at Friedrichshafen airport (Germany) or Zurich airports, with transfers to and from Laax included, making attendance easy, especially for young people travelling alone or with friends - we just need flight details and will then take care of everything "door to door" from arrival at the airport at the beginning of the week to departure at the end of the week. The cost is £65 (est. 85 EUR, $125 USD) return.

The price for the fully-inclusive residential Spring 2009 Youth Snowboarding holidays varies depending on when you travel (we have to charge more during the popular School February half-term period because we are charged higher prices by our suppliers):

PRICE BAND A: Saturday 31 January - Saturday 7 February 2009 / Saturday 21 February - Saturday 28 February 2009 / Saturday 28 February - Saturday 7 March 2009 / Saturday 7 March - Saturday 14 March 2009 / Saturday 14 March - Saturday 21 March 2009 / Saturday 21 March - Saturday 28 March 2009. (We are running ski & snowboard holidays in Les Deux Alpes in April 2009 over the Easter period.)

FOR THESE WEEKS the price per youth will be just £545 (est. 710 EUR, $1100 USD) for everything, except travel to and from resort. Or £525 (est. 680 EUR, $1050 USD) for returners and youth relatives of someone paying full price for a residential or non-residential place. The price for day non-residents will be £275 (est. 355 EUR, $555 USD) or £255 (est. 330 EUR, $515 USD) for returners and youth relatives of someone paying full price for a residential or non-residential place, for a place on the Tourparty Camp (Daily Coaching), Packed Lunch and 6 day Lift Pass.

PRICE BAND B: Saturday 7 February - Saturday 14 February 2009.

FOR THIS WEEK the price per youth will be just £595 (est. 775 EUR, $1200 USD) or £575 (est. 750 EUR, $1150 USD) for returners etc. The price for day non-residents will be £340 (est. 440 EUR, $690 USD) or £320 (est. 415 EUR, $645 USD) for returners etc.

PRICE BAND C: Saturday 14 February - Saturday 21 February 2009.

FOR THIS WEEK the price per youth will be just £695 (est. 900 EUR, $1400 USD) or £675 (est. 875 EUR, $1360 USD) for returners etc. The price for day non-residents will be £395 (est. 515 EUR, $800 USD) or £375 (est. 490 EUR, $760 USD) for returners etc.

[ PRICE COMPARISONS - If making a price comparison please remember that our prices include 24/7 care and supervision, accommodation, food (breakfast, lunch and dinner), lift pass, activities and excursions, equipment testing, souvenir film and photographs, souvenir t-shirt, demonstrations by Pro riders and, of course, expert Coaching and guiding for the whole time you are on the snow plus their company and friendship when you are off-snow too. ]

You are welcome to attend for more than one week, whether doing snowboarding for the whole time or spending one week snowboarding and the other skiing. To book more than one week just complete and submit booking forms for each week and we will make all the arrangements.

If you are planning to arrive by plane into Zurich or Friedrichshafen airports, we can arrange your transfers to and from resort for you. The cost is £65 (est. 85 EUR, $125 USD) return, payable on booking. Alternatively you can get trains and buses from Zurich airport to Laax Murschetg.

(We welcome bookings from all over the world. We require payment in GB Sterling and for this reason we charge credit and debit cards etc and request bank transfers and cheques (checks) in the GB Sterling price of the holiday. However to help international participants with pricing we have also given prices in EURO and US Dollars where possible (calculated according to the exchange rate on 16 March 2008). These alternative currency prices are a guide only, the exchange rate may differ when you book.)

By booking places on the Tourparty Spring 2009 Snowboard Holidays and Camps you agree to these conditions which include:

• The Tourparty Youth Spring Snowboarding Holiday & Camp 2009 is open to boys and girls aged 10 to 17 years from any country. The main language for coaching during the Camp is English.
• Before travel you must hold a valid passport and, if not an EU national, have the necessary visa to enter Switzerland (if one is required). We cannot accept responsibility for the costs arising if permission to travel is refused due to lack of necessary documentation.
• We regret we cannot reserve places without a completed booking form and deposit/payment. (In the event of cancellation after 1 December 2008 a £250 (est. 360 EUR, $500 USD) cancellation fee will be retained to cover administration and cancellation costs, the remainder will be refunded in full).
• Places are strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. We cannot accept any more riders once these places have been fully allocated.
• We reserve the right to change any aspect of the Holiday/Camp without warning, provided it does not change the nature and spirit of the trip.
• In the unlikely event we are forced to do so, we reserve the right to cancel the Camp; in such circumstances we will give as much notice as possible and a full refund on or before the start date of the Camp. We cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred and recommend you take travel insurance.
