ALLEYOOP 360 WALL RIDE with Andy Bennett

Feature: Big Wall Ride

Safety check: Make sure the join between the snow and the wallride is smooth. Check how sturdy the wall is, check for wobbling and make sure the landing on the other side isnt too bad should you go all the way over the other side.

Andy Bennett does an Alleyoop 360 Wall Ride, Mammoth 2004

How to: Practice just riding up the wall and coming back down switch. This is an easy way to get the speed right. Once you have the speed right try doing some easier tricks first. Rock to fakies and Straight 180's are an easy way to start off. Then when you think you are ready to try an Alleyoop 360 hit the wall with the same speed on the left side if you rotate to the left, or the right side if you rotate right. Start the rotation as soon as you hit the wall.

It is easiest to do the rotation in two steps. The first 180 is started at the bottom of the wall ride and the second 180 just when you start to come back down from maximum height. If you air a little bit it doesnt matter, just make sure your skis are on the wall when you are coming round for the last 180. For the last 180 push off the wall a little to ensure you get all the way round and land smoothy without catching your tails. Land switch as if you were just landing a 180 off a kicker, and ride out smooth!

Extra tip: Fully commit to your trick. The worst thing you can do is get scared, this trick is a lot easier than it looks!
